What could civic discourse look like post-Roe?

  • Putney Public Library 55 Main Street Putney, VT (map)

Before the Roe decision, states determined what sort of restrictions should be placed on abortion. Elected representatives, not unelected judges, weighed different points of view and considered competing interests. Should Roe be overturned, those deliberations will go back to the states. How can we make the best decision?

This presentation considers three different ways of thinking about abortion access: progressive, conservative, and libertarian. We’ll consider the best constructive arguments and the most salient critiques from each of these vantage points. The point is not to endorse anyone point of view but to better understand their reasoning.
